Developement Of Project C
The development of Project C was a highly valuable experience for me. It allowed me to gain a true appreciation for the amount of effort required to create even a simple platformer game — and that is considering the game is not yet in a fully polished state. Fortunately, I did not have to face this challenge alone. Despite working as a team of two, the development process still required approximately five full days of continuous work, possibly even longer.
Initially, we divided the tasks in such a way that each of us could experience all aspects of the development process — from programming to creating animations and sound effects. However, we later realized that this approach was not ideal, as each of us implemented game mechanics differently within our respective scripts. Additionally, we encountered difficulties when collaborating on shared scripts, as merging our changes proved to be problematic.
Eventually, we adjusted our workflow by assigning distinct responsibilities to each team member. This revised division of labor proved to be more effective, and our progress became noticeably more efficient — although it still remained quite demanding. I regret that I did not manage to maintain a regular development log, as I had many other responsibilities at the time and, to be honest, it simply slipped my mind.
Nevertheless, we are now submitting a functional version of the game, along with an accompanying gameplay video. I sincerely hope that you will find some enjoyment in the game mechanics and appreciate the narrative we have crafted.
